The Bay provides spectacular scenery and the surrounding Sierra Madre mountains protects it from severe tropical weather. An annual average of 350 sunny days and warm tropical breeze help to make Puerto Vallarta one of the most "returned to destinations on earth" (quoted from I.A.T.A./International Association of Travel Agents). The population lives at the foothills of the Sierra Madre, an important habitat of luxurious vegetation that provides shelter to a great number of species, such as: deer, iguanas, hares, mountain lions and many tropical birds. The warm waters of the bay are home to: Humpback Whales, Killer Whales, dolphins, turtles and manta rays. Overall, the bay and mountains offer us a multitude of rivers, waterfalls, estuaries and beautiful beaches. An hour drive to the south is a mountain forest of great beauty, with a cool year round climate, and different ecological impact. More on Puerto Vallarta Sightseeing |
