PUERTO VALLARTA MEXICO

They say that paradise is a state of mind. When all of the ingredients are of the highest quality, it can also be a place. Puerto Vallarta Mexico qualifies for this high distinction. Our friends tell us so.

When folks from Vancouver complain of 60 straight days of cloudy weather and rain, and travelers from Phoenix talk of plus 100ºF heat (38ºC), and East-coasters dig their way out of snow banks, we hear their message, as planes land with visitors looking for sun and relaxation.

Our town offers amenities and attractions not readily available in any other part of Mexico and perhaps not in the world. PV's weather hovers in the mid 80's (30ºC) for much of "high season," giving way to rainy summer season from late June to early October. Some folks even prefer those months, delighting in the electrical storms that produce an orchestra of lightning that dances throughout the sky. Then, it's back to those glorious sunsets that attract "visitantes" to every rooftop across the town. As the sun sinks, everyone waits to see if the proverbial "green flash" will be visible on their beach. For those not content to walk established paths, there are many tours and activites: hiking, sport fishing, golf, whalewatching, ATV, jungle tours [check our tours] restaurants galore, or just enjoy the local biodiversity and jungle.

The Marina area offers a selection of European-styled hotels. Comparable to the "Zona Hotelera" of Cancun Mexico, but it's much closer to a true Mexican experience, you can also find luxurious villas or condos if you enjoy a bit of personalized pampering vacation rentals or if you become a Jalisco addict, you can even consider our real estate options.

In fact, the Puerto Vallarta is the authentic "Mexico" experience, brim full: taco stands and an order of quesadillas is but the first step. In the past visitors would lodge down in a central hotel and do their sightseeing from there. That changed with the opening of the "Romantic Zone" on the south side. Olas Altas and Basillo Badillo now offer world class restaurants and the pier offers panga rides to Las Animas, Majahuitas, Yelapa and Quimixto (read more on the Puerto Vallarta beaches and the surrounding area has to offer). Don't forget to use our interactive map to find streets, hotels and more.

The rich and famous find their way to their homes along Amapas, Gringo Gulch and Conchas Chinas (see our photo & video gallery), but the beach belongs to everyone. Vendors weave in and out with their offerings of silver and home grown materials. The streets and byways of Puerto Vallarta Mexico are a buzz with a people that are proud of their heritage and culture. They warmly welcome tourists and especially when they practice their Spanish. Bring some suntan lotion, kick back, and let centuries of Mexico traditions come to your doorstep.
