Para los amantes del golf Puerto Vallarta se está convirtiendo en una de las mejores elecciones. Actualmente ofrece 3 campos de golf: el Club de Golf Marina Vallarta, el Club de Golf Flamingos y el Club de Golf Punta de Mita.

El campo de la Marina ofrece hermosas vistas de la bahía y, a pesar de ser exclusivo para socios, la mayoría de los hoteles de cinco estrellas en Puerto Vallarta cuentan con membresías que ponen a disposición de sus huéspedes (con cargo adicional). Cuenta con bar, restaurant, golf pro y tienda.

El club de Golf Flamingos se localiza adelante de Nuevo Vallarta, a unos 15 kms. al norte de Puerto Vallarta y ofrece un campo de 18 hoyos, par 72, diseñado por Pierce Clifford. Este campo está abierto al público y ofrece golf entre vegetación exuberante. Cuenta con bar, snack-bar y tienda.

Afines de 1999 se inauguró el nuevo Campo de Golf en Punta Mita el cual cuenta con 18 hoyos diseñados por el campeón de fama mundial Jack Nicklaus.

Actualmente se están construyendo dos campos más en Las Juntas a 10 minutos al norte de Puerto Vallarta, uno de ellos diseñado por Jack Nicklaus.

Si a esto agregamos los dos campos de golf que se están construyendo en dos importantes hoteles de Nuevo Vallarta; esta zona contará con 5 campos espectaculares a principios del nuevo milenio, con lo que Puerto Vallarta confirmará su posición como un destino incomparable para los amantes del golf.

There is good news for golfers planning a visit to Puerto Vallarta, because day by day more golf courses are being constructed, due to the extensive natural resources. Right now there are 3 complete courses with 2 more being constructed. All the courses are in excellent condition, and are very happy to be in Puerto Vallarta because of the warm, tropical climate.

The Marina Vallarta Golf Club was designed by Joe Finger.
This particular course has various holes that offer an hypnotic view of the bay, and it is very well kept up. The course is challenging, but not overly difficult.

The Marina Golf Club restricts play for members only, but most 5 star hotels in Puerto Vallarta have memberships that allow their guests to play. There is a pro shop, a head pro, and a restaurant on the premises.

The Flamingos Golf Club was designed by Pierce Clifford.
The course is located near Nuevo Vallarta, and is open to the public.
This particular course is challenging, especially from the back tees, and is renown for the lush, tropical vegetation that lines each hole. There is a bar, snack bar, and pro shop on site.

The most recently opened course is the impressive Jack Nicklaus design, Punta de Mita Golf Club. This course has been constructed alongside some of the world's most beautiful coastline. The scenery is so impressive that even if your game goes bad you won't care. The course is located on the far north end of the bay, which is a 45 minute ride from downtown Puerto Vallarta. Trust me, it is well worth the ride. The course is private, has a club house, head pro, and a snack-bar.

There are also two more beautiful courses being constructed on the north side of the bay near Nuevo Vallarta that hope to open their doors before the year 2001.
